The Argentine authorities allowed obtaining citizenship by investment
The Argentine government has allowed those who invest in the country to obtain citizenship. This was reported on May 29 by the newspaper El Norte with reference to the presidential decree.
"The law imposes strict restrictions on the entry and residence of foreigners, but at the same time introduces a new condition: it allows granting citizenship to those who make "significant" investments in Argentina," it follows from the material.
According to the newspaper, a new agency will be created in the Ministry of Economy of the country to implement the project, which will be responsible for "developing, managing and monitoring programs for granting citizenship by investment."
In addition, according to the document, the rules for entry and residence of foreigners are being tightened. For example, people who are illegally convicted of any crime, regardless of its severity, will be deported. Argentine citizenship will be granted to those who can prove two years of continuous residence in the country.
In addition, illegal migrants will now pay for medical care. Universities will also be able to charge fees for international students who do not have permanent residence permits.
On May 7, it was reported that migrants would be banned from entering all German land borders, even if they applied for asylum. In addition, an order was issued to strengthen border controls and increase refusals when trying to enter the country.
