The Italian authorities are not going to lift restrictions on the range of weapons for Ukraine. This was reported on May 28 by the newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano, citing sources.

"The Italian government has no plans to lift restrictions on the range of strikes with weapons supplied to Ukraine," the article says.

The publication writes that currently the Italian government does not intend to follow the example of Germany.

Earlier, on May 26, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Britain, France, Germany and the United States had lifted range restrictions on weapons supplied to Ukraine. He noted that this decision is aimed at giving it the opportunity to attack targets in Russia.

Later, on May 28, during a press conference following a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Merz evasively answered a question from journalists about the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev. According to him, the intention of closer cooperation was confirmed on this day.
