The FSB detained a Russian for spreading radical religious ideas


Employees of the Office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the Rostov region, together with operatives of the Center for Countering Extremism of the regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, stopped the activities of a Russian citizen who is accused of spreading religious ideas of a radical nature. This was reported on May 29 in the department.
It is specified that the person involved is the head of a religious organization of Muslims. There he promoted an intolerant attitude towards representatives of other religious associations, as well as towards Muslims of other faiths. In addition, he provoked conflicts with the official Muslim clergy.
"A criminal case has been opened against this person under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Organization of the activities of an extremist organization") and Part 2 of Article 213 ("Hooliganism") on the fact of an attack by a group of persons on a citizen," the message says.
On May 26, the FSB in the Nizhny Novgorod region identified and suppressed the activities of a cell of radical Islamists consisting of immigrants from Central Asian countries. It was noted that the group consisted of seven citizens of one of the Central Asian states. According to the FSB, the participants acted on the instructions of a foreign emissary stationed in Poland.
