A criminal group in the field of illegal migration was detained in Yekaterinburg.


In Yekaterinburg, an organized criminal group in the field of illegal migration was detained, which included the director of the center for taking exams from migrants. On May 29, the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region was informed about this.
"According to investigators, in the period from September 2024 to May 2025, a 41-year-old native of one of the Central Asian republics, while in Yekaterinburg, created a criminal group in order to organize the illegal stay of foreign citizens in the territory of the Russian Federation. The organized criminal group included nine people," the department's Telegram channel says.
The group members were looking for migrants who needed fictitious registration. In turn, the director, for a bribe, talked about the correct answers to the tasks. Thanks to this, the examinees could answer questions without knowing the basics of the Russian language.
Nine defendants in the case, depending on their role, were charged under Part 3 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code ("Organization of illegal migration"), Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code ("Fictitious registration of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of residence in the Russian Federation"), Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code ("Abuse official authority"). At the moment, the issue related to the election of preventive measures against intruders is being resolved. The issue of detaining the intruders is being resolved.
On May 20, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk, announced the elimination of the illegal migration channel and the detention of six residents of the Volgograd region and Moscow. Upon the incident, investigators opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration"). It is specified that the defendants were taken to Moscow.
