Russian FSB officers have suppressed the activities of a cell of an undesirable Ukrainian organization in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported on May 29 in the press service of the regional department of the department.
They noted that the cell of the All-Ukrainian Spiritual Center Vozrozhdenie (recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation) included up to 10 people.
"The head carried out psychological treatment of adherents, held their meetings and watched video conferences, distributed relevant literature," the text of the statement of the FSB of the Russian Federation reports RIA Novosti.
According to the agency, the leader of the cell also organized a systematic collection of funds for the needs of the organization. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision or collection of funds or provision of financial services knowingly intended to support the activities of a foreign or international organization, in respect of which a decision has been taken to declare undesirable").
As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", the head of the organization is on his own recognizance.
On May 26, it was reported that FSB officers in the Nizhny Novgorod region had identified and suppressed the activities of a cell of radical Islamists consisting of immigrants from Central Asian countries. According to the agency's Public Relations Center, the group's members acted on the instructions of a foreign emissary stationed in Poland.
