Russia is a country with a long road network, diverse climatic conditions and heterogeneous infrastructure. When choosing a car for travel, it is important to take into account its ability to cope with various road conditions and its readiness for prolonged loads. On May 29, experts from the Sber ecosystem for motorists told Izvestia about this.

A car for traveling in Russia must meet at least three key criteria: to be adapted to local road conditions, reliable and balanced in terms of comfort and economy, they said.

"Popular summer destinations like cities and towns in the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, Karelia, and Lake Baikal often include areas with country roads, gravel, broken pavement, or sudden elevation changes. Such conditions require certain technical characteristics from the car. The optimal ground clearance for such routes is from 170 mm," the Sber ecosystem for motorists said.

Experts noted that the energy-intensive suspension smooths out bumps, improves traction and makes the ride more comfortable even when riding on graders or gravel.

It was also recommended to pay attention to long-distance travel options such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistant. These systems help the driver to maintain concentration and reduce fatigue on long sections of the highway, explained in the ecosystem of the Savings Bank for motorists.

In addition, when buying a car, it is worth examining the availability and availability of spare parts and the prevalence of services. A car for which it is difficult to find a service station in case of a malfunction can spoil the experience of the entire route. According to customer reviews, Japanese and Korean brands, as well as time-tested models of domestic automakers, remain the most reliable.

"The future belongs to hybrid cars, which use 20-30% less fuel on average in a mixed cycle than their traditional gasoline counterparts. This is especially noticeable during long-distance trips at variable speeds. At the same time, thanks to the electric motor, they maintain smooth dynamics and are better adapted to conditions of urban travel or traffic jams on the highway," the company added.

On May 25, experts from Sber Eaptek, a service for buying, maintaining and selling SberAuto cars, and the Scandinavian Health Center named the main criteria for a safe car to Izvestia. According to them, functions such as automatic braking, lane keeping and driver fatigue detection significantly reduce the risk of an accident. Special attention should be paid to the safety ratings of Euro NCAP, IIHS and NHTSA, the experts added.
