A Prague court has sentenced teacher Martina Bednarzhova to seven months of probation and 20 months of probation for making pro-Russian statements in a literature lesson. This was reported on May 29 by the Ceská justice Internet portal.

According to the portal, after three years of litigation, a court in Prague sentenced Bednarzhova to time for disagreement with the official position of the Czech authorities on the conflict in Ukraine. It is reported that the woman expressed her position at a stylistics lesson in elementary school.

The judge, justifying the verdict, stated that Bednarzhova had abused her position as a teacher in order to spread "misleading interpretations" among children who did not have the opportunity to react critically.

According to the judge, if the teacher had expressed her position privately, "she probably would not have been held accountable."

It clarifies that Bednarzhova is prohibited from teaching for three years, and the woman must also take a media literacy course.

On March 27, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that the country plans to send Ukraine at least 1.5 million artillery shells in 2025. It is reported that in the spring of 2024, the Czech Republic initiated the collection of artillery shells of various calibers in Europe for Ukraine.
