Russians named the advantages of using digital assistants in parenting


The majority of Russians surveyed (86%) are convinced of the need to use digital assistants to protect children from unwanted content on the Internet. This is stated in the results of the VTB survey, which was conducted on the eve of the International Children's Day, celebrated on June 1. Izvestia got acquainted with the information on May 30.
About a third of the respondents (27%) said that they trust the solutions they already know on the market in this matter, actively use them or are ready to use them. 30% of the survey participants also spoke about using digital assistants to protect children "from time to time." Another 29%, although they would like to use digital assistants to protect children from unwanted content, do not yet know any suitable solutions on the market.
Of all the respondents, only 14% believe that parents themselves should control all the content that is available to their child on the Internet, and for this they do not need digital assistants.
"Russians also see the benefits of using digital assistants as educators and tutors to hone any skills in children. 79% of Russians use or are ready to use AI assistants for these purposes to some extent. And 21% of respondents answered that family members, caregivers, school teachers and tutors should be involved in education and upbringing of children, and digital assistants are not needed for this," the results of the study report.
At the same time, 88% of respondents expressed the opinion that digital assistants can be good conversationalists for children, sources of cognitive information. And only 12% are sure that all kinds of digital services should be used by children extremely rarely, and new knowledge is passed on to children by family members, kindergarten teachers and school teachers, as well as other children, relatives and acquaintances.
Earlier, on April 29, it was reported that among the Russians surveyed, the majority (81%) expressed the opinion that parents should teach their children online safety rules first of all. The respondents named school teachers in second place in this list, and IT companies whose products children use in third place. This is stated in the results of a study by the Avito online platform and the Alliance for the Protection of Children on the Internet.
