Deptrans of Moscow called BMW drivers the main violators of parking rules

Among premium-class car drivers in Moscow, those who drive BMWs are more likely than others to park under signs prohibiting parking, in places for the disabled and on sidewalks. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this in its Telegram channel on May 29.
So, since the beginning of 2025, Moscow Parking tow trucks have moved almost 15 thousand premium class cars to special parking lots for parking violations. Of these, BMW cars were evacuated 4.8 thousand times.
Mercedes-Benz cars are in second place in the anti-rating (4.5 thousand times), followed by Audi (2.4 thousand times), Lexus (1.1 thousand times) and Land Rover (1 thousand times).
"Parking rules are the same for drivers of all car brands. An expensive brand will not save your car from being moved to a parking lot in case of a violation," the Department of Transport said.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz cars were the leader in the number of movements to special parking lots, followed by BMW. This year, these positions have been reversed, but the rest of the anti-rating has remained the same, the department noted.
Earlier that day, it was reported that the Ministry of Transport had published a draft amendment to the rules of the road explaining the duties of drivers when approaching vehicles with special signals turned on. In the same document, the Ministry proposed introducing the concept of a "child restraint system (device)" into the traffic regulations and defining what exactly applies to these systems.
