Peskov said there was no response from Kiev on the negotiations.

Russia has not yet received a response from Ukraine on direct negotiations in the context of conflict resolution. This was announced on May 29 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"You know that we proposed on Monday, June 2, to meet again in Istanbul for the second round. So far, as far as I know, no response has been received," he said at a briefing.
In addition, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation called Ukraine's demands for Russia to immediately provide the memorandum unconstructive. According to him, in this case, it is necessary either to confirm readiness to continue the negotiation process, or to do the opposite.
Peskov stressed that the main thing at the moment is to continue the process of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on May 28 that the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine would be held in Istanbul on June 2. He expressed the hope that all parties interested in the success of the peace process would provide support for a new round of discussions.
On the same day, the head of the Russian delegation, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Medinsky, invited the Ukrainian Minister of Defense and the head of the Ukrainian delegation to negotiations with Russia, Rustem Umerov, to meet to exchange memoranda with a position on a cease-fire and conflict resolution. According to Medinsky, Russia is ready for a "meaningful" discussion of an agreement to end the Ukrainian conflict. Umerov said that Ukraine had submitted its draft memorandum to Russia and was waiting for the Russian version of the document.
