Crimean authorities have allocated 15 million rubles to the oil industry

The Crimean authorities have allocated 15 million rubles for the development of the ether oil industry. The money will come from the regional budget, the press service of the republican Ministry of Agriculture reported on Thursday, May 29.
Agricultural producers are compensated for 80% of the cost of laying new plantations. It is assumed that this will provide an incentive for farmers to increase the volume of growing valuable crops.
The total area of plantations of essential oil crops in the Crimea exceeds 1,400 hectares, of which 800 hectares are occupied by lavender and 110 hectares are devoted to the essential oil rose. The crops are mainly located in the Bakhchisarai, Belogorsky districts and in the vicinity of Alushta.
In the current 2025, republican farmers plan to plant 38 hectares of new lavender and rose plantations. This will strengthen Crimea's position in the essential oil market and contribute to the development of agrotourism.
Earlier in May, Izvestia reported that frosts had destroyed 12% of sugar beet crops, and they would have to be replanted. Also, the southern regions of Russia may lose up to half of the harvest of apricots, peaches, cherries and plums.
