Archaeologists have discovered Scythian treasures and daggers in Tuva.


In Tyva, in the Valley of the Kings, archaeologists discovered treasures and daggers of the Scythians, which were made in an animal style. This was announced on May 29 on the website of the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
It is specified that the excavations took place at the Tung-1 Scythian burial mound in the floodplain of the Uyuk River. In the course of their work, archaeologists discovered bronze mirrors, daggers, as well as gold jewelry with geometric ornaments. In total, more than 50 items were found.
"Daggers are of particular interest. In particular, a bronze specimen with a pommel in the form of a curled predator was discovered. It demonstrates the characteristic features of the bestial style common among the nomadic cultures of Eurasia, and shows the high importance of weapons in the funeral rite," the message says.

Among the individual finds is a red framed tile from the 16th century with a complex ornate ornament.
