Public discussion of deputies' initiatives, similar to the regulatory impact assessment mechanism, should be conducted for all entities that have the right to submit draft regulations to the State Duma, and primarily for deputies. This was stated on May 29 by the head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) Alexander Shokhin at the forum "15 years of ODS in Russia: a word to business."

"It is necessary to ensure the implementation of the provision of the law on mandatory requirements — the law of 2020 - on holding a public discussion of draft regulations, in relation to acts submitted to the State Duma by subjects of legislative initiative other than the government," he said.

According to the head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, there are currently about 750 such entities in Russia, including State Duma deputies and senators. Shokhin noted that in the election year, the activity of parliamentarians will increase, and it will be difficult to follow their initiatives.

"Of course, we will need to be quite active here in order not to miss something through certain mechanisms of optional ODS, public discussion," he noted.

Earlier, on May 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the great role of business in the fact that Russia ranks fourth in the world in terms of purchasing power parity. He stressed that this result is the merit of domestic enterprises, which continue to develop despite external pressure.
