Sale of energy drinks in hospitals and schools to be banned in Crimea

The sale of energy drinks in educational, medical, cultural and sports institutions will be banned in Crimea. Restrictive measures will take effect on September 1, 2025, the press service of the Republican State Council reports.
The relevant law was adopted by parliamentarians, writes IA SevastopolMedia. The ban is intended to minimize health risks, promote responsible consumption, and reduce the burden on the healthcare system.
As explained by Oksana Dobrorez, head of the Crimean State Council Committee on Industry, the initiative is more aimed at protecting teenagers from the negative effects of the high content of synthetic caffeine, sugar and stimulants in these drinks.
Earlier in May, Izvestia wrote that public activists were asking the Prosecutor General's Office to check the implementation of the rules for selling energy drinks to minors online. Since March 1, the sale of such drinks to children has been prohibited, but they can still be freely purchased on online platforms, and passport and age are usually not asked at the pick-up point.
