A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that the Russian military liberated the settlements of Stroevka in the Kharkiv region, Gnatovka and Shevchenko First in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Also, the units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

The Defense Ministry said that six US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs and 123 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems, including 47 outside the area of the special military operation.

"Operational-tactical aircraft, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated the workshop for the production of strike unmanned aerial vehicles, the US—made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system shelter, ammunition depots, as well as temporary deployment points of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 137 districts," the ministry said.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 60,318 unmanned aerial vehicles, 607 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,631 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,565 multiple rocket launchers, 25,391 field artillery and mortars, 36,138 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
