The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has sentenced a 60-year-old local resident to 13 years in prison in a high treason case. This was announced on May 29 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
"In the period from August to September 2024, the attacker, while at home in the city of Yenakiyevo, using a mobile application of one of the banks, transferred funds to provide financial assistance to a foreign state in Ukraine in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation," the agency's website says.
According to the prosecutor's office, the convict realized that the funds would be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and other Ukrainian formations, including the purchase of equipment, uniforms, weapons and medical supplies.
The court sentenced the man to 13 years in a high-security penal colony, imposed a year of restriction of freedom after his release and a fine of 450 thousand rubles.
On the same day, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a local resident to 20 years in prison in a high treason case. In 2022, a 59-year-old man established contact with a representative of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). On the instructions of the curators, the defendant collected information about the location of the warehouses of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Rosgvardiya in Dzhankoy and Krasnoperekopsky district.
