The expert announced crop losses due to frosts

The Krasnodar Territory became the region most affected by frosts. This was announced on May 29 by Anatoly Tikhonov, Director of the International Center for Agribusiness and Food Security at the RANEPA Graduate School of Corporate Governance, during a press conference at Izvestia on the topic "The impact of frosts on crops: consequences and price forecast."
"The Krasnodar Territory was particularly badly affected. This is probably too loud, but it made me worry, because four waves of frosts are, of course, serious things," he said.
According to him, apricots, cherries, plums, quinces and other crops suffered the most damage. For them, frosts below minus three degrees are very destructive.
In other regions, the situation is more or less stable. In Crimea, the consequences turned out to be quite serious, and the damage is currently being calculated. In some local areas, indirect crop losses reached almost 100%, while in others they were less significant.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea suggests that the decrease in yields may amount to about 20%.
On May 25, Marina Tatarenko, a biologist at the Department of Teaching Methods of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the State University of Education, gave advice on the use of natural fertilizers for flowers at home in an interview with Izvestia. According to her, the remnants of tea and coffee as fertilizers do not benefit home flowers, and an overabundance of ash can do more harm.
