A new ecotrope has appeared in the national park "Land of the Leopard".

An ecotope has been opened in the Land of the Leopard National Park in Primorsky Krai. This was told in the press service of VTB, which took part in the project.

"Proper organization of the tourist route will help save wildlife from destruction and for the first time open up a view of the previously inaccessible cascade of waterfalls. The ecological trail will be free to visit as a tourist," the bank noted.

To preserve the ecosystem, the new section of the existing trail has been expanded by 125 m, the total climb is 117 m, and the total length of the route will be 485 meters. The ecotrope passes by the waterfalls "Wild Mouth" and "Stepped", which were previously inaccessible to the public. Information stands are located along the trail, which introduce visitors to the local flora and fauna, as well as the history and features of each waterfall.

According to Natalia Kochneva, Senior Vice President of VTB, Russia is the world's leader in the number of specially protected natural areas. "The bank's environmental projects are one of the important elements of the sustainable development strategy. By supporting the Land of the Leopard National Park, we are contributing to the careful restoration of the Far Eastern leopard population, updating the technical base, conducting scientific research and creating conditions for safe ecotourism," said Kochneva.

Viktor Bardyuk, director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Land of the Leopard", said that more than 130 thousand guests from different countries visit the territory of the national park every year. "Interest in eco-tourism is constantly growing, so the unique nature needs special protection. The boardwalk literally saves this facility, makes visiting it comfortable and reduces anthropogenic impact," he stressed.

In 2024, VTB received the status of Guardian of the leopard, under the care of the bank is a family of wild Far Eastern leopards: mother Gerda, son Phoenix and two more kittens.
