Switzerland will take measures if Leopard tanks sold to the German company RUAG are sent to the Ukrainian side. This was announced on May 29 by the official representative of the Ministry of Economy of the country, Francoise Chanz.

She noted that the embargo on the supply of Swiss weapons to Ukraine and Russia remains in force, violation of the agreement is punishable by imprisonment for one year or a fine.

"We have no indication that RUAG and its German contractual partner intended to violate this embargo...> If the State Secretariat for Economics (SECO) receives information in this direction in the future, it will take appropriate measures," said Chanz in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The day before, it was reported that the Swiss Ministry of Economy approved the sale of 71 Leopard 1 A5 tanks to Germany on the condition that they would not be re-exported to Ukraine. As noted in the government of the confederation, the transfer of components or components of military equipment to Kiev is also not allowed.
