The identity of the second victim of the explosion in Stavropol has been established, he turned out to be a 29-year-old local resident and acquaintance of a veteran of the special military operation (SVO) Zaur Gurtsiev. This was reported on May 29 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"At present, the identities of the victims have been established. They are the first deputy mayor of Stavropol, Zaur Gurtsiev, and his 29-year—old acquaintance, who was a local resident," the SU IC wrote on its Telegram channel.

The department added that the scene of the incident was examined in the criminal case, forensic examinations were appointed, and a set of measures is being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

On the same day, Izvestia published footage from the site of the explosion in Stavropol.

Earlier, on May 29, two people died in Stavropol, presumably as a result of an explosion. Several nearby cars were also damaged. The governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, reported that the investigation does not exclude the possibility of a terrorist attack. Later, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case into the deaths of two residents.
