The head of the Novosibirsk Department of protection of the Russian Guard was arrested in a case of bribery

The Zaeltsovsky District Court of Novosibirsk has detained for two months the head of the department of non-departmental security of the Rosgvardiya in the Novosibirsk region, Rovshan Kurbanov, suspected of taking bribes. This was announced on May 29 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the region.

It is clarified that Kurbanov, being the head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Directorate of the Non-departmental Security of the National Guard Troops in the Novosibirsk Region", demanded via WhatsApp on April 30 from the head of the department of the Lemana PRO shopping center a bribe in the form of building materials in the amount of over 293 thousand rubles for committing illegal actions.

The court found the defendant guilty under paragraphs "b" and "c" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe").

"The court has chosen a preventive measure against Kurbanov R.K. in the form of detention until 07/27/2025," the press service's page on the VKontakte social network says.

A day earlier, the Main Investigation Department (GSO) of the Investigative Committee for the region reported that a criminal investigation into a former police officer accused of bribery had been completed in Krasnoyarsk. It is specified that from August 2018 to May 2023, the defendant received bribes in the amount of 400 thousand rubles from a businessman specializing in passenger transportation for a condescending attitude during inspections. The accused was taken into custody.
