- A Moscow pensioner lost more than 11 million rubles after communicating with scammers

In Moscow, a pensioner lost more than 11 million rubles after a telephone conversation with fraudsters who identified themselves as employees of the school where she once worked. This was reported on May 29 by a source of Izvestia.
"According to the woman, calls from unknown persons began to arrive from the beginning of April. The interlocutors introduced themselves as employees of the school where she had previously worked and FSB officers. The scammers convinced her to withdraw about 8 million rubles from her accounts. The pensioner handed over boxes of money to taxi drivers," the source said.
The woman also accused the attackers of illegally debiting more than 3.2 million rubles from her bank cards. It later became clear that the pensioner's apartment had become the property of third parties, although she had not signed any documents.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
On May 28, it was reported that a Muscovite woman decided to make money investing in cryptocurrency on the advice of scammers and lost more than 5.3 million rubles. The girl tried to withdraw the funds, but discovered that the received cryptocurrency had no real value. It turned out that during the exchange, her assets were replaced with fake ones.
