A criminal case has been opened into the deaths of two residents of Stavropol, including Zaur Gurtsiev, a veteran of the special military operation. This was reported on May 29 in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened under clauses "a" and "e" of Part 2 of Article 105 ("Murder of two persons in a generally dangerous manner") and Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition and storage of explosive devices")," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the acting head of the investigative department of the Stavropol Territory Department, Vladimir Khorolsky, to report on the progress of the investigation of the case.

Earlier, on May 29, two people died in Stavropol, presumably as a result of an explosion. Several nearby cars were also damaged. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Stavropol Territory continues its investigation. The governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, reported that the investigation does not exclude the possibility of a terrorist attack.
