The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Western weapons had reached Sahel militants through Ukraine.

Moscow records that Western weapons supplied to Ukraine fall into the hands of militants on the African continent. This was stated on May 29 by Tatyana Dovgalenko, Head of the Department for Partnership with Africa at the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a briefing for African delegations at the XIII International Meeting of High Representatives in Charge of Security Issues.

According to her, the actions of the Kiev regime are aimed at undermining peace and security in Africa and include cooperation with terrorist groups in the Sahel countries. Dovgalenko noted that this interaction is manifested in the organization and training of militants.

"The facts of weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine falling into the hands of criminal, terrorist groups in various regions of the world, including in African states, are being recorded," TASS quoted the diplomat as saying.

Dovgalenko stressed that the fight against terrorism and extremism is becoming an important aspect of cooperation between Russia and Africa.

On April 3, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Ukraine, with the full connivance of the West, supports terrorist groups in the Sahel. He noted that Moscow is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to the Sahel States Alliance (AHS) in defense, security and economy.
