The UK has opened a criminal case into the deaths of two girls in an accident in the Moscow region.

A criminal case has been opened into an accident in the Voskresensk district of the Moscow region, which killed two underage girls and injured another one. This was reported on May 29 in the Telegram channel of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region.

The department clarified that a criminal case had been opened on the fact of traffic violations and vehicle operation, as a result of which two girls died and another was injured.

The investigation established that the girls' father, being intoxicated, was driving along the road near the village of Potapovskoye and, having lost control, drove into a ditch with a subsequent rollover.

According to the GSU of the Investigative Committee, in the near future the driver will be taken to the investigative department for investigative actions.

The relationship with the victim was recognized as a mitigating circumstance.

The accident near Voskresensk became known on May 28. The accident occurred on the MBK — Kladkovo —Berendino highway, as a result of which two 13-year-old girls died from their injuries. The driver and a 12-year-old passenger were hospitalized.
