An engineer of a municipal enterprise was convicted of fraud in Chelyabinsk.


The Kalininsky District Court of Chelyabinsk found guilty the former chief engineer of the municipal unitary enterprise "Traffic Management Service" of accepting bribes and fraud on an especially large scale. This was reported on May 29 in the press service of the FSB of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region.
According to the agency, in the period from 2022 to 2023, the defendant received over 2.5 million rubles from a representative of NITauto LLC for general patronage and assistance in concluding contracts with a municipal enterprise. In addition, from 2020 to 2023, he, together with the director of Omega LLC, stole budget funds allocated for the purchase of auto parts for the needs of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise, using his official position.
The court sentenced the former engineer to five years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, a fine of 36 million rubles and deprivation of the right to hold positions in state and municipal service for a period of five years.
On May 28, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Kyzyl opened a criminal case on embezzlement of 2.7 million rubles for the supply of 40 LiAZ buses. According to the investigation, the city hall signed a contract with a contractor from Krasnoyarsk for the supply of buses. All necessary invoices and information about the provision of services were provided. Based on these documents, more than 12.3 million rubles were transferred to the contractor.
