Florida beat Carolina to become the first Stanley Cup finalist.


The Florida Panthers hockey Club on Thursday, May 29, defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in the fifth game of the Eastern Conference final series of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs and won a place in the Stanley Cup finals.
The meeting was held in Raleigh and ended with a score of 5:3 in favor of Florida.
The winning team included left winger Matthew Tkachuk, forwards Evan Rodriguez, Anton Lundell and Carter Verhag, as well as left winger Sam Bennett. Russian goalkeeper of HC Florida Panthers Sergey Bobrovsky was able to deflect 20 shots out of 23.
On the opposing team's side, forward Sebastian Aho and right winger Seth Jarvis scored.
On May 25, the U.S. national team beat the Swiss team in overtime and won the Ice Hockey World Championship for the first time since 1960. The match took place in Stockholm and ended with a score of 1-0.
