A teenager died in a house fire in the Irkutsk region.
A 13-year-old teenager died as a result of a fire in a house in the Iskra cottage association in the Irkutsk region. This was announced on May 29 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.
"Five people who were in the house evacuated through the window. Unfortunately, the 13-year-old did not manage to get out. His body was discovered while extinguishing a fire," the ministry said.
In addition, a 17-year-old girl needed help. She was hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning.
The flames were extinguished on an area of 88 square meters. m. 12 personnel and three pieces of equipment were involved in the extinguishing operation. It was established that the cause of the fire was an emergency operation of the power grid.
Upon the incident, the investigative department for the Irkutsk district of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Irkutsk region opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").
Earlier, on May 22, two people died as a result of a fire in one of the apartments of a five-story building in Severodvinsk. It was noted that the fire occurred at night, and the 60-year-old apartment owner died in the fire. Another man who was injured during the fire died in an ambulance.
