Abbot Evmeniy told the details of the attack at the book presentation in Moscow

Abbot Evmeniy told Izvestia on May 29 that he had forgiven the man who attacked him in Moscow and did not want to file a police report.
"I don't want to file a complaint against him. I have no complaints, and I generously forgive him in a Christian way," Evmeny shared.
At the same time, the abbot does not exclude that after his release, the man may still pose a threat to his safety, but he cannot do anything other than give forgiveness.
As for the attacker's behavior, the abbot explained it as a manifestation of psychosis. According to Yevmeny, such hatred is based on fanatical religious grounds.
So, the man began to criticize the abbot, and then ran up and tried to spray a canister in his face.
"The canister didn't work, so it hit this beautiful place five times (on the head. - Ed.). <...> Not everyone immediately got their bearings, then the guys ran up and held him pinned to the ground until the arrival of the Russian Guards," Evmeniy said.
The attack on Yevmeny at the presentation of the book "Wisdom of the Heart: the Book of Conscious Love" in Moscow became known earlier that day. The attacker attacked the abbot with a balloon after the performance of one of the participants, who began shouting at Evmeny. The abbot was hospitalized.
