Military motorists of the Southern Group of Forces, performing combat missions in the area of the special military operation (SVO), celebrated a professional holiday at a combat post. This was announced on May 29 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Currently, the main task of the drivers of the 76th separate battalion of material support of the Southern Group of Forces is to deliver ammunition and food to the soldiers on the front line.

"Most of the transportation is carried out at night. There are a lot of drones now, so everything needs to be done quickly and stealthily," said the battalion's driver with the call sign Kvadrat.

All drivers in the service have valuable military experience and have also been awarded state awards.

In Russia, the professional holiday of military motorists was established on February 24, 2000. It traces its history back to May 29, 1910. It was then that the first automotive training company was created.

On May 27, a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces noted the advantages of using a buggy in the military area. He noted that buggies are good, but combined with other equipment, because medical units need an extensive fleet of various ambulances, he noted.
