A court in the United States has decided to block the introduction of duties by Trump

On May 28, the Federal Court of the United States ruled to block the introduction of trade duties by US President Donald Trump, arguing that this was an abuse of authority. This was reported by the Reuters news agency with reference to the court.
"The president exceeded his authority by imposing comprehensive duties on imports from countries that sell more to the United States than they buy," the media quoted the court's decision.
It is clarified that the President of the United States, when imposing tariffs, was guided by the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The court found that Trump exceeded the powers vested in the president by the IEEPA.
According to the agency, the administration of the American leader almost immediately filed a notice of appeal.
Earlier, on May 27, Trump said that the European Union (EU), amid the escalation of the trade war, turned to the United States to select meeting dates to resolve disputes. He also expressed hope for the EU's decision to "open up" European countries to trade with the United States.
