The American corporation Apple intends to rebrand its line of operating systems (OS). This was reported on May 28 by the Bloomberg news agency.

"Apple Inc. is planning the most radical change in the names of its operating systems, which is part of a major software overhaul that applies to all of its devices," the agency comments.

According to Bloomberg sources, the next Apple OS will be determined by the year, not by the version number. This will ensure consistency in your branding and move away from an approach that can confuse customers and developers.

The company will announce the rebranding at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9th. Branding is considered an attempt to provide a more holistic experience when people move between devices.

According to the agency, the new look, internally named Solar, will include previous versions of tvOS Corporation's OS, watchOS, and parts of visionOS.
