Germany intends to support the production of long-range weapons in Ukraine. This was reported on May 28 on the website of the German Ministry of Defense.

The ministry noted that in the future Germany will finance the production of long-range weapons systems in Ukraine. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov agreed on a corresponding deal in Berlin in writing.

"A significant number of long-range weapons systems should be produced in 2025. The weapons systems will quickly become available to the Ukrainian armed forces — the first of them can be deployed in just a few weeks. Since they are already part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), no additional training is required," the ministry explained.

It is also assumed that Germany will continue to supply Kiev with ammunition, including for air defense systems. The total amount of aid provided will also include the provision of small arms and ground equipment to Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Pistorius promised military support to Ukraine in the amount of €5 billion. It is noted that during the meeting with Umerov, the official stressed the immutability of Germany's position and said that Berlin would like to contribute to the joint efforts of Kiev's partners, including in the field of air defense.
