Private Alfir Musin was serving at an air surveillance post when he noticed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) approaching the Russian stronghold. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Thursday, May 29, reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of a special military operation (SVO).

Musin immediately contacted the command, warning about the appearance of a kamikaze drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and then opened fire on the target. The UAV detonated in the air, having failed to harm the Russian positions.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the bold and decisive actions of the guard of Second Lieutenant Andrei Oparin, who commanded a group of motorized infantry and participated in the storming of the AFU stronghold.

Oparin developed an assault system taking into account the terrain, and motorized infantry approached the support from different directions, encircling the target and opening fire. The surprise effect worked, and the enemy, caught off guard, turned out to be disorganized. As a result of the battle, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost a significant part of their personnel and were forced to retreat. Russian motorized rifle units gained a foothold on the new line and held their positions until reinforcements arrived.

Earlier, on May 28, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Second Lieutenant Nikita Yuryev commanded a platoon of UAVs and carried out the task of supporting the advancing motorized rifle units of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). Yuryev personally organized observation posts to take into account the convenience of monitoring the airspace and ensure the safety of personnel.
