Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Kyzyl opened a criminal case on embezzlement of 2.7 million rubles for the supply of 40 LiAZ buses. This was announced on May 28 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tyva in its Telegram channel.
"In 2021, the Department of Urban Property of the City of Moscow transferred 40 low—floor buses of the LiAZ brand to the ownership of the capital of the Republic of Tyva," the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
According to the investigation, the Kyzyl City Hall signed a contract with a contractor from Krasnoyarsk for the supply of buses. All necessary invoices and information about the provision of services were provided. Based on these documents, more than 12.3 million rubles were transferred to the contractor.
"At the same time, it was established that 31 vehicles were delivered to Kyzyl, not 40. The police found out that four buses remained in Moscow, and five units are located in the Vladimirovskaya, Kirov, Chelyabinsk, Omsk regions and the Krasnoyarsk Territory," the press service notes.
