A man attacked Abbot Evmeniy at the presentation of the book "Wisdom of the Heart: the Book of Conscious Love" in Moscow. This was announced on May 28 by a source of Izvestia.

It is specified that the incident occurred in one of the bookstores after a speech by one of the participants, who began shouting at Evmeniy. An eyewitness claims that the attacker attacked the abbot with a balloon, as a result of which the clergyman was hospitalized.

"I do not know why he walks around unguarded, if there are such assailants against him," the source said.

In addition, an eyewitness reported that after the incident, police officers arrived at the scene and detained the suspect in the attack.

On February 12, in the Canadian city of Winnipeg, a 50-year-old man armed with a knife approached the altar during a service and attacked a 38-year-old pastor, the latter managed to escape unharmed. The attacker then plunged a knife into the altar and sat on a chair behind it.

The detainee was charged with several crimes, including assault with a weapon. There is no information about his motives yet.
