- In Ukraine, they plan to restrict the access of the UOC to the premises of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra

The new leadership of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra Reserve intends to restrict the access of monks of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) to the premises of the Lower Lavra. This was announced on May 28 by lawyer Nikita Chekman, representing the interests of the UOC.
"Alarming information is being received: tomorrow, the new leadership of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra National Reserve plans to resort to illegal actions aimed at restricting the brotherhood's access to the premises of the lower Lavra," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
He stressed that such actions would be illegal, since there is not a single decision in the court proceedings that has entered into legal force.
On April 6, Archimandrite Polycarp (Linenko), the monastery's installer, announced that Ukrainian police had established a security checkpoint at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. Thus, monks can get in and out only according to the lists compiled by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
