Putin demanded to restore order in the field of sports medicine

In the field of sports medicine in Russia, it is necessary to restore order and comply with the requirements established by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA). This was announced on May 28 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for Physical Education and Sports.
"We have a government-designated federal agency [FMBA] in the field of medicine that deals with this professionally <...> We need to put things in order here," he said.
Putin also stated that it was unacceptable to involve "shamans" in accompanying the Olympians. He mentioned the doping cases of tennis player Maria Sharapova and figure skater Kamila Valieva and attributed this to the involvement of "specialists in controversial areas, to put it mildly, <...> alternative medicine."
On May 5, Putin signed a decree on the establishment of the national Center for sports medicine in Russia. The main functions of the medical institution will be to organize events aimed at improving the health of Russian athletes and improving the medical and biological support of sports camps.
