- The Russian Ambassador in Rome revealed the reasons for Italy's refusal to send troops to Ukraine.

A significant and most combat-ready part of the Italian Armed Forces is already engaged in European, NATO and bilateral military missions abroad, Russian Ambassador to Rome Alexei Paramonov told Izvestia. In particular, 7.5 thousand people have already been involved, and the maximum number of contingents abroad provided for by law is 14.5 thousand soldiers.
"Along with the lack of additional troops of its own for Ukraine, Rome is clearly not satisfied with the role of the "wingmen" prepared by the Italian military in the "coalition of the willing" being created by London and Paris. The Italians would not like to share responsibility with other "willing" for possible provocations in their area and take on the risk of direct confrontation with Russia," the diplomat told Izvestia.
No matter how hard the Western falsifiers of history, including the Italian ones, tried, the memory of the defeat of the 265th Italian expeditionary force at Stalingrad, Voronezh and Nikolaev (by the way, not far from the current CBO zone), which was sent by Benito Mussolini to fight the USSR on the side of the Third Reich in 1942, still remains in the Apennines.M. Apparently, this historical "vaccination" is still in effect and deters the current Italian authorities from participating in dangerous military adventures against Russia.
Italian politics is characterized by a focus on Washington, so today the Italians are closely monitoring the mood of the US leadership, which is currently focused on providing mediation services in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, Paramonov stressed.
"Not wanting to interfere with overseas partners, Rome considers it necessary to temporarily refrain from sudden movements," said the Russian ambassador to Italy.
However, the Italian authorities have already handed over ten aid packages worth €3 billion to Ukraine, and the 11th military support package is currently being prepared. The media claim that it will include 400 M113 armored personnel carriers, which, apparently, we will soon see burning en masse on the front line steadily shifting towards Kiev, concluded Russian Ambassador to Italy Alexei Paramonov.
On May 21, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Warsaw had no plans to send troops to Kiev. He stressed that the issue was finally closed for the Polish side. According to him, Poland faces the task of organizing a center for the transfer of weapons and other assistance to Ukraine.
