About 150 billion rubles have been allocated for the creation of a fleet of special vehicles for people with disabilities by 2030. This was announced on May 28 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports.

He reported on the importance of developing such programs in those regions where they do not exist.

"We need to develop social transport in general, this is also a separate area," Putin said, instructing the State Council to work on this issue so that the initiative would come not only from the federal government.

In addition, the Russian leader said that work on creating an efficient transport infrastructure has already been planned and has actually begun.

"Although this issue is quite obvious, very sensitive and directly affects people's ability to play sports, it is necessary to get there, even if there are appropriate venues," he said.

On the same day, Putin said that the problems of Russians with disabilities are under the control of the Russian government. He noted that the infrastructure of cities, towns, educational and sports facilities continues to change in the country in order to adapt them for people with disabilities.
