- Putin said the authorities were constantly monitoring the problems of Russians with disabilities

The problems of Russian citizens with disabilities are under the control of the Government of the Russian Federation. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 28.
"The complex of problems of people with disabilities is under constant control of authorities at all levels. And in recent years, much has been done to ensure that the lives of these people, our citizens, have acquired a new quality," the head of state said at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports.
According to the Russian leader, about 11 million Russians have disabilities or health restrictions, while 7 million of them have no contraindications to sports.
In addition, Putin noted that the infrastructure of cities, towns, educational and sports facilities continues to change in the country in order to adapt them for people with disabilities. The Russian leader also stressed that rehabilitation and habilitation measures for the disabled are actively developing in Russia.
Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports and President of the Russian Olympic Committee, announced on April 8 that about 2.8 billion rubles have been allocated this year for the development of adaptive sports in the Russian Federation. In addition, he stated that improving the accessibility of sports infrastructure for the disabled is a priority for the next five years.
