Ural defeated Akhmat in the first play-off match for the right to play in the RPL
On May 28, Ural Football Club defeated Akhmat Grozny in the first play-off match for the right to play in the Russian Premier League (RPL).
The game took place in Yekaterinburg and ended with a score of 2:1. Ural striker Martin Sekulich scored twice, while Akhmat scored the only goal from Georgy Melkadze with a direct free kick.
In addition, the chief referee of the match Kirill Levnikov, after watching the video replay, canceled the Akhmat goal scored in the 10th minute, as well as the Ural goal, which was scored in the 12th minute. In the 45th minute of the match, the coach of the Yekaterinburg club, Oleg Shatov, was removed from the field.
The second leg will be played on May 31 in Grozny.
On May 4, CSKA Moscow drew with Akhmat in the match of the 27th round of the Russian Premier League. The match on May 4 ended with a score of 1:1. As part of the red-blue team, striker Sekou Koita scored in the 9th minute, and forward Maxim Samorodov equalized in the 33rd minute.
