The planners of the film premieres took great care of both the schoolchildren who were going on vacation and the parents who would have to entertain the children who were left out of work. For a family camping trip with younger children, the next episode of the animated franchise "Three Heroes" is perfect, those who are older will like the country comedy "Field of Miracles", and high school students will be happy to go to the John Wick spin-off about a killer ballerina. Izvestia reports on the most interesting film premieres in June.

"Ballerina"

June 5th

After the death of her father, young Eva Makarro intends to take cruel revenge on his killers. She joins the criminal organization Ruska Roma and goes to an underground school where young ballerinas are taught martial arts. Having mastered the profession of a killer, Eva begins the hunt for her father's killers. She is talented and ruthless, and only one person can resist her — the one who many years ago received the unofficial title of the coolest killer on the planet.

The creators of the John Wick franchise started talking about the upcoming filming of the fifth part back in 2020, after the release of the third film. However, the mixed reviews from critics about John Wick 4, with its scandalously huge budget, seem to have cooled the hotheads a little. We are no longer promised a full-fledged fifth film, but work on the franchise does not stop. The owners evasively announced a computer game, and now a full-fledged spin—off is coming to the screens, featuring a significant part of the characters from the main storyline - Winston (Ian McShane), Charon (Lance Reddick) and, finally, the great and terrible John Wick himself, played by a thin Keanu Reeves. He and Eva will have an impressive confrontation, following which it will be possible to draw conclusions about whether the audience will wait for the next movie about the magnificent killer. Impressive landscapes, dangerous car stunts and, of course, endless fights and shootouts are included.

"Chuck's Life"

June 5th

39-year-old Chuck Kranz lives in an unremarkable provincial town and looks like a completely ordinary person — he works as an accountant, is married, has a child... He is one of millions of people who seem invisible, and yet his life and death subtly change something in the surrounding reality. Behind the unassuming exterior of his life lies a whole universe of joy and sorrow, childhood fears and amazing discoveries. And every person represents the same universe — however, in order to understand this, you need to learn how to read the signs of fate.

Stephen King is considered by many to be the "king of horror," and not everyone is able to remember that he is also a master of deeply humanistic, life-affirming finales, worthy of a ladies' novel with his positive energy. The story "Chuck's Life" from the collection "There will be Blood", published in 2020, is an example of just such an approach. Tom Hiddleston ("Churchill", "Thor", "Midnight in Paris"), who played the main role, is an ideal choice with his unremarkable appearance and ability to demonstrate powerful inner energy without unnecessarily sudden movements.

"Field of Miracles"

June 5th

The picture has nothing to do with the legendary TV show, referring directly to the "Adventures of Pinocchio". The role of the wooden man is played by a whole company of elementary school students vacationing in a small summer cottage village. The children's gang has a gathering place, a headquarters set up with their own hands in a cornfield. Over the years, he has gained not only a cozy atmosphere, but also his own legend — about a treasure allegedly buried in a field during the time of Napoleon. But happy holidays are under threat when new summer residents appear in the village — a girl named Katya with a blogger mom and a businessman dad who dreams of setting up a construction market in a cozy field. The guys will have to work hard to keep the field and their summer idyll from being destroyed.

Fortunately for the audience, the creators did not hastily reshape the comedy humor for a family audience, choosing to appeal to classic patterns. The communication of young fighters for justice with cynical businessmen, as well as their methods of dealing with the latter, more than once make us remember the legendary "Home Alone" franchise — and who's to say that it's bad? At least, the status of the family movie "Field of Miracles" justifies one hundred percent: there are no "adult-only" jokes where parents have to cover their children's ears or eyes in a hurry.

"Three heroes: Not a day without a feat 2"

June 12th

If there is no hero, it should be invented, and if there is, it is a sin not to use it, of course, if properly. Studio "Melnitsa" has succeeded in the latter: since 2004, when the instantly popular cartoon "Alyosha Popovich and Tugarin the Snake" was released on the screens, the cartoons of the franchise delight the audience almost every year. The current "Three Heroes: Not a day without a feat 2" will be the 14th film in the franchise. There are still enough funny gags to amuse children, and jokes with a funny but not obscene context for adults accompanying children to the cinema. All the people, young and old, are having fun and rejoicing.

In the new "heroic" cartoon, Ilya Muromets, Dobryna Nikitich and Alyosha Popovich will have to meet an important overseas guest, restore the horse Julia's ability to speak, and turn Prince Vladimir from a mosquito back into a man. At the same time, viewers themselves can acquire some ability to diagnose fraudulent actions: Julia's remark "this is not water, but H2O" gives a very good idea of the essence of some advertising tricks.

"How to become a millionaire"

June 12th

Michael Larson, the unlucky owner of a traveling ice cream truck, became one of the participants in the gambling TV show Press Your Luck in 1984. Quiz participants earn money by answering questions sequentially and clicking on the buttons of the scoreboard that regulates the amount of winnings. Michael looks like a dumb freak, which is what attracts the producers. But, to the surprise of the film crew, the strange man goes further and further — and as a result, the amount of his potential winnings grows so much that the producer decides to stop Larson's progress to the super prize at all costs. TV crews find out his background, ask provocative questions, distract the player in every possible way — however, for the time being they do not realize that not only luck is on his side, but also secret knowledge that will help him on his way to the coveted reward.

Of course, an ordinary person is simply obliged to deceive the system — otherwise there would be no scenario based, as the creators of the picture emphasize, on real events. These events are more interesting to learn than even the finale of the picture. The real Michael Larson actually participated in Press Your Luck in May 1984. By this time, he had long-term dreams of getting rich quickly, changing several dozen jobs, and accusations of fraud, theft, and selling stolen goods. To win the quiz show, he watched the show every day for about six months, calculating the patterns of the scoreboard. The organizers guessed this, but Larson managed to prove in court that there was no prohibition on such calculations in the rules of the game. He received about $110,000, a record amount at the time, and, fearing further trials, left for Florida. There he was robbed of almost all his winnings, again started lottery fraud, aroused the interest of law enforcement agencies, and fled again, this time to Ohio, where he died of cancer, unable to use the fruits of his labors.

The "Materialist"

June 19th

Lucy (Dakota Johnson — "50 Shades of Grey") is a professional New York matchmaker. She is famous for her ability to match customers so that very soon they are bound by the bonds of Hymen. But Lucy can't help herself in any way. She is torn between a handsome millionaire in love with her (Pedro Pascal — "Game of Thrones", "One of Us") and a handsome ex who realized his mistakes (Chris Evans - "Fantastic Four", "The First Avenger"). Not feeling able to make a choice, she is sure that her fate is to remain a lonely spinster. Marriage marketing will not help here, but there is a way out: love will accidentally descend and put everything in its place.

"The Materialist" is the second film by Korean—Canadian director Celine Song, whose drama "Past Lives" received two Oscar nominations last year, including Best Picture. However, at that time, interest in the painting was fueled by the exoticism of the partly autobiographical plot about the communication of an emigrant from Korea and her lover from a previous life. This time, the plot is based on a kind of love triangle again, but will it be as refined against the background of New York skyscrapers, which is standard for a melodrama?
