Scientists have reconstructed the face of composer Beethoven

Scientists have reconstructed the face of German composer Ludwig van Beethoven 200 years after his death. The British newspaper Daily Mail (DM) reported about this on May 28.
The publication noted that Beethoven, despite being one of the greatest composers in history, was remembered for his sullen disposition and unkempt appearance. This could also be seen in the portraits, where he was depicted as an unsmiling man with an "icy" look.
"Now, a scientific reconstruction of his face has revealed what he really looked like—and it looks like he really looked so grumpy," the newspaper writes.
The first ever reconstruction of the composer's appearance based on his features was completed by the lead author of the study, Cicero Morais. To do this, he used historical photographs of the musician's skull, which were provided at the Beethoven House in Bonn.
"This face seemed a little scary to me," admitted the specialist.
On the same day, it was reported that researchers from Spain found a stone with a pattern at one of the Neanderthal settlement sites, which they believe may indicate the presence of artistic abilities in ancient people.
