Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during which they discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and energy spheres. This was announced on May 28 by the Kremlin's press service.
"Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during which topical issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic and energy fields were discussed," the publication says on the website.
It is specified that the leaders agreed to continue bilateral contacts at various levels.
On May 17, Putin expressed confidence in the further development of bilateral relations between Moscow and Astana. He stressed that the Russian side highly appreciates the contribution of the President of Kazakhstan to strengthening relations of strategic partnership and alliance with the Russian Federation.
