- Lavrov said that Germany was heading for collapse after Merz's statements about weapons for Kiev

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statements about the supply of long-range weapons to Kiev and financing the production of missiles in Ukraine indicate that Germany is on its way to collapse. This was announced to journalist Pavel Zarubin on May 28 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"Germany is sliding down the same inclined plane along which it has already moved down to its collapse a couple of times in the last century. I hope that responsible politicians in this country will make the right conclusion and stop the madness," the minister said in an interview published on the journalist's Telegram channel.
Lavrov also noted that Germany's direct involvement in the armed conflict is already obvious. He also said that the German authorities are escalating the situation and provoking the continuation of the conflict.
Earlier in the day, at a press conference, Merz said that Germany would support Ukraine in developing its own long-range weapons. He added that Berlin and Kiev plan to establish joint production of long-range missiles, but did not disclose details. Merz also again announced the lifting of restrictions on the range of use for weapons supplied to Ukraine.
