The words of the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, can be regarded as a provocation. Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, told Izvestia on May 28.

On this day, Kosinyak-Kamysh openly called Russia an enemy for the first time. This happened after arriving from the USA. In particular, the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense expressed dissatisfaction with the exercises of the Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea. At the same time, the Russian side has repeatedly stated that it does not threaten other states, including NATO member countries.

"This is outright rudeness, but at least the person expressed his attitude towards our Motherland. We will remember this and proceed from the fact that he really declared us an enemy," the senator said.

Karasin noted that Kosinyak-Kamysh should also understand that any maneuvers in the territorial waters of the Baltic Sea, which are Russian or neutral, are not prohibited by law.

"The emotions of the Minister of Defense in this case can be regarded as a provocation," he concluded.

On May 26, Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Maritime Board, noted the rapid growth of threats from NATO. According to him, there is also an increase in the presence of alliance forces in the Baltic region and the denunciation of key arms control agreements.

In addition, he noted the need for additional measures to neutralize threats to Russia's security at sea.
