Experts spoke about the preferred housing area for Russians


40% of Russians consider an apartment with an area of 70 to 100 square meters to be the most comfortable option for living. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by Domclick analysts, which was attended by more than 3 thousand people.
34% of respondents choose housing from 50 to 70 square meters, while 15% prefer apartments over 100 square meters. Only 10% of respondents are ready to consider options from 30 to 50 square meters, and only 1% agree to a square footage of less than 30 square meters.
At the same time, the area of apartments in new buildings lags behind the wishes of Russians. The primary housing market is dominated by apartments ranging from 30 to 50 square meters. m — they make up 46% of the supply. Options from 50 to 70 square meters (31%) are in second place in terms of prevalence, while the segment most in demand among buyers (70-100 square meters) occupies only 15% of the market. Apartments of small (up to 30 sq. m.) and large (over 100 sq. m.) square footage are represented in minimal quantities — 6% and 2%, respectively.
The average area of an apartment in new buildings in Russia is 48.6 sq. m. The Kamchatka Territory (66.7 sq. m.), Chuvashia (64.3 sq. m.) and the Komi Republic (63.9 sq. m.) became the leaders in square footage of housing. In the top ten regions with the most spacious new buildings, the median apartment area exceeds 60 sq. m.
According to experts, country houses can be an attractive alternative for those who prefer more spacious housing. Their average area in Russia is 100 square meters, which corresponds to the preferences of the respondents.
The suburban real estate market is dominated by houses ranging from 100 to 150 square meters (30%) and over 150 square meters (24%). Another 21% is accounted for by houses with an area of 70 to 100 sq. m. The share of houses in the range of 50 to 70 sq. m. m is 13%, and very small houses and cottages — 12%.
The largest number of country houses was recorded in the Irkutsk Region (137 sq. m.), Moscow (131 sq. m.) and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (115 sq. m.).
