Almost 175 thousand military personnel have arrived in military units since the beginning of the year, and over 14 thousand people have been accepted into volunteer units. This was announced on May 28 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"As of today, almost 175 thousand military personnel have arrived in military units, if we talk about the results that we currently have. In addition, more than 14,000 people have been accepted into volunteer units since the beginning of the year," Medvedev said at a meeting on the staffing of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with contract soldiers, which was published on his page on the VKontakte social network.

According to him, in mid-May, Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed the attitude of citizens who are ready to defend the state. The head of the country also noted that 50-60 thousand volunteers come a month.

Medvedev called these indicators the real state of affairs. He believes that it is necessary to continue working on the acquisition of aircraft under the contract.
