Rubio announced the tightening of the US visa regime for foreign officials

The United States imposes visa restrictions on foreign officials, including those from Europe, who are involved in restricting Americans' freedom of speech abroad. This was announced on May 28 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He clarified that these measures may also affect people from Latin America and Europe.
"Foreigners who are trying to undermine the rights of Americans should not enjoy the privilege of traveling to our country," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
On May 27, the Politico newspaper reported that the administration of President Donald Trump suspended the appointment of new interviews for student visas, as it is considering the possibility of introducing mandatory verification of the social networks of all international students. If this plan comes to fruition, it could seriously slow down the processing of student visas.
